Message from the Chairman

It is a great honor and responsibility to be elected to the Chairmanship of the Board of Commissioners. The Chairman has traditionally been more involved with the day-to-day operations of the Housing Authority than the regular commissioners. Over the course of the next year I hope to become better acquainted with both the staff and residents. I look forward to working with all the staff and our outside partners and vendors. We have made much progress in the last two years and I believe we can continue that trend.

The reports from our resident councils make it obvious that many residents are involved in the process of improving our developments. I want to encourage and promote the resident councils in any way possible. If anyone has constructive ideas that will improve our services and increase our efficiency. I encourage you to bring them forward and share them with us.

With the election of George W. Bush to President and a mostly Republican Congress, the wind from Washington will probably blow from a different direction. We will need to adjust our sails and as we drift across the sea of HUD regulations. The next four years will undoubtedly test our ingenuity and resources. I look forward to the challenge and I hope you do too.
