PRINCIPLES AND PURPOSES

The following statements were adopted as Bylaws by the 1984 and 1985 General Assemblies.

We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote:

The living tradition we share draws from many sources:

Grateful for the religious pluralism which enriches and ennobles our faith, we are inspired to deepen our understanding and expand our vision. As free congregations, we enter this covenant, promising to one another our mutual trust and support.

The Unitarian Universalist Association shall devote its resources to and exercise its corporate powers for religious, educational end humanitarian purposes. The primary purpose of the Association is to serve the needs of its member congregations, organize new congregations, extend and strengthen Unitarian Universalist institutions, and implement its principles.

The following purposes & slogans were adopted by Board of Directors at their June 1997 Retreat

PURPOSES

1.)-To make available quality services that help congregations realize their vision, mission and U.U. Principles and Purposes,

2.)-To tell people about our religion and invite them to join us by using newspaper, Internet, radio & TV and to give leadership on social issues.

3.)To form a community of congregations to share ideas and resources to identify and achieve common goals.

SLOGANS
