CHARLOTTE COUNTY
EVACUATION ROUTES

1. In Punta Gorda go U.S. 17 to S.R. 74 (just before you get to Cleveland or just past the Punta Gorda Country Club) to S.R. 31 North, to S.R. 70 East to U.S. 27 North to Interstate 4 East. This will take you through Lake Placid, Sebring, Avon Park, Lake Wales, and Haines City.

2. In Punta Gorda go U.S. 17 North through Arcadia. At Zolfo Springs, take 64 East to 27 North at Avon Park. This will take you into the center of the state.

3. In Port Charlotte/Charlotte Harbor area, go to King's Highway (761) to S.R. 72 East to 70 East through Arcadia to U.S. 27 at Lake Placid.

4. I-75 and U.S. 41 are evacuation routes but are not recommended as the traffic will be very heavy on these two roads. Both are following the coast and traffic from Collier, Lee, Sarasota, Manatee, and surrounding areas may also be evacuating using I-75 and U.S. 41.
