Woodhaven Finn MacCool

Dear Mom,

I want you to know I got home safe & sound. The 1,344 mile trip home was was fun! I enjoyed the ride and never once got sick. It was a very long drive for a 7 week old puppy, but my Aunt Laurie or my new Mom gave me lots of attention. I even played in the snow again before we got home. You would have been very proud of me.

You told me that I would someday go to my own home and have lots of fun. You were right! Well Mom's always are right, but I think I've really lucked up here. My new Mom & Dad really think I'm cool and they gave me all kinds of new toys.

This picture was taken in Finley, Ohio. I think they named the town for me.. sort of! It was a nice motel and the bed was soft.

I just gave my new Mom that pleading look and she let me sleep on that nice bed with her. Mom made a good pillow, she kept laughing and saying that I thought she was part of the pile (you'll know what I mean). I was a good boy, I didn't cry at all.

The next night down in Macon, Georgia, I pulled this same look again and got to sleep in that bed too!

My first day at home was real fun. I inspected the house and found it was a real neat place. I have my own bed, my own dishes and lots of neat toys. I think my two stepbrothers will like me. They kind of wondered what I was doing here, but they are beginning to share the toys. Jet has shown me how to stay cool under the big Carrotwood tree and Smokey has shown me how to go out the dog door. Smokey didn't like me bitting his face and had to put me in my place. But were all getting to be friends since.

We have some nice smelling Geraniums in the yard. They tasted good too!

Mom you would be real proud of me. I'm getting pretty good at this potty stuff. I found that whining works and they get me outside real fast.
I'm training them well.

Oops, I forgot to tell you that I already know my name and come running fast when they call me. I'm a very smart little guy!

They insisted I learn to work, so I have to help with the dishes every night. I found it was much easier to just get in there and clean them. But for some reason that wasn't the way they wanted it done!

It's not a bad job. Smokey helps me sometimes.

There is a really neat rug in the bathroom, lots of fringe! Mom, you forgot to tell me to leave stuff like that alone.

I had to spend time out in the jailhouse. They put this monster crate in the living room and when I get to butt-tucking to much or my new Mom can't watch me, they stick me in here. I hope this doesn't last to long!

My favorite spot is laying in the bottom of the coffee table. There used to be a vase here, but it was moved so I would have more room.

Now this is a neat spot to sleep or watch TV!

I think tomorrow Dad is going to get the kiddie pool out and let me play in it. It has been real hot. I've got hair just like a mink coat and as thick. It's too bad, but I guess it will fall out fast living down here.

Well that's about all for now. It has been a big week for me. Hope you aren't missing me much, I'm doing very well and enjoying my new family.

Big Smooches & Snuggles,

Finn
