Sometime in 1998 -- the date is not fixed -- there will be an official meeting on y2k. Problems will be discussed.

The US government plans to run an international conference on the year 2000 problem early next year, bringing together leading experts from industry, academia and government. Cynthia Warner, a senior official in charge of the year 2000 programme at the General Services Administration in Washington DC, said she hoped to convene the best brains on the issue, representing the G8 group of leading industrial nations.
