I have posted this as the first posting. I added it on June 24, 1997, but I want it at the top of the Introduction list, so I gave it an early date. This is as good a summary of the y2k problem as I have seen. Especially good are the answers to most people's initial response: "But can't they just. . . ?" No, they can't. Not in the time remaining.
