General, Vascular, Oncologic, and Head and Neck Surgery

Hospital Admission Once your examination is over and it is determined you require hospitalization, you will be admitted to either Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center, Lee Memorial Hospital or Gulf Coast Hospital. Our physician assistant will take your medical history and a physical will be performed. This information will then be forwarded to the hospital. Before surgery is done, you will be required to sign a surgical consent form that allows Surgical Associates of Southwest Florida to operate on you. Please make sure you fully understand the surgical precedure to be performed before you sign the consent form. Once in the hospital, a series of tests will be done. These include blood tests, chest x-ray and EKG. These are done to provide further information on your medical condition. Following surgery, your physician will provide you detailed instructions as to what you can and can't do during your recuperation period. Please follow these instructions carefully since they are designed to speed your recovery.
